Our honey bee colony is at about 50,000 and they’re filling the second super with brood and honey, so I’m adding a third super.

The brood has begun hatching, so the hive population is now expanding by nearly 1,500 bees each day. It’s time to move up to larger accommodations.

An update on my honeybee hive. 24 days ago I hived New Zealand Arataki bees in Vancouver, BC. The queen has been busy laying eggs, and right on cue the brood is beginning to hatch. This vid includes 3 weekly reports from my hive plus a visit to my bee mentors’ hive.
